Reflecting on the Season

Autumn is an ideal time to focus on our families and friends. With the vacations of the summer just a memory, spend some time with your spouse, your children, your parents and close friends. There are many ways to spend time with family friends, and many won't cost you a dime. For instance, a walk in the park can work wonders on everybody's psyche. A picnic in the park or even your own back yard can be the perfect backdrop for sharing stories, accomplishments and a cozy fire. Autumn is also an ideal time to focus on our values and morals and consider what lessons we are teaching our children. Spend some time showing your children the meaning of ``earning your keep'' and the joy of ``a hard day's work.'' And in light of the recent terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., this autumn is an ideal time to reflect on the meaning of life, and just how precious it is, a true love for your country and the global community. Share your fears and concerns not only for those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, but also for what we must do to keep moving forward with life, helping those who remain on Earth to cope with this tragedy. Most importantly, connect with your family and friends. There's no time like the present.

The Language of Love

Everyday, celebrate not only romantic love, but also the love of family and self. The spirit of love can be found anytime you add beauty and personal style to living.

Writing a letter is a perfect way to communicate your love and feelings to another. Before e-mail, cell phones and two-way pagers, there was pen and paper.

Writing down our feelings is, in a sense, a real commitment because we are expressing emotions and passion that can't be captured with the spoken word.
