Setting up your Fall Fiesta

Setting up the buffet table is easy. First, we put a white twin-sized sheet over the table and let it drape to the floor.

We chose an orange Kalanchoe plant for the centerpiece and two wine-shaped vases to display foods.

Next, we placed baskets, bowls and the like on the table to give some height to various foods we wanted to feature.

Nothing puts your guests in the mood like an invitation. A striking invite sets the tone for your affair and shows your guests that you want this event to be extra special.

We purchased blank invitation stationery that included die-cut pieces for that extra pizzazz.

We added the wording using a computer and printer. If you do not have access to a computer and printer, grab a pen.

Handwritten invites are extra special, too!

Then we draped a white tablecloth over the baskets and bowls to conceal what they are.

Now you can place your food on the table, making a dramatic presentation.

For instance, the shrimp was tumbled over a whole crab in a large vase. A large platter was used for the meats. A wine-shaped vase holds bite-sized pieces of corn, garnished with cherry tomatoes.

We used Fiesta ware, but any colorful ceramic dishes or plastic and paper products will work.

Scatter tortilla chips, chilies and whole bell peppers about the table, which gives it more color and a lush look.

Now enjoy!
